Terms of Use
The short version: Flybound is a pre-flight planning aid — never a substitute for an official preflight or for in-flight navigation. It's offered as-is, the optional Pro subscription auto-renews through the App Store until you cancel, and your use of the app is at your own discretion and risk as pilot in command.
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Flybound (“Flybound,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Flybound app and the flybound.app website. By downloading, installing, or using Flybound, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Flybound is a planning aid — not for navigation
Flybound is NOT an electronic flight bag, NOT a navigation system, and NOT for in-flight use. It does not replace official preflight planning. You are the pilot in command. Before every flight you must complete a full preflight action under FAR 91.103 using current, official sources — charts, the Chart Supplement, official weather and NOTAMs, TFRs, and your aircraft's POH. Weather, airspace, runway, fuel, daylight, and other data shown in Flybound may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, and is provided for advisory planning only.
All go / caution / no-go indications are informational estimates based on third-party data and the limits you enter. They are not flight authorizations or guarantees of any kind. Every decision to fly, and every aspect of the safe conduct of a flight, remains solely your responsibility.
License
Flybound grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA), which applies to your use of the app and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Where these Terms and the standard EULA differ, these Terms control to the extent permitted. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as the standard EULA or applicable law allows.
Subscriptions and purchases
Flybound's core scored map is free. Flybound Pro unlocks additional features and is offered two ways:
- Pro (monthly). An auto-renewable subscription, sometimes offered with an introductory free trial. Unless cancelled, it renews automatically each month at the price shown in the app and on the App Store.
- Lifetime. A one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks the same Pro features without recurring billing.
For purchases made through the App Store, the following apply:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- A monthly subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If an introductory free trial is offered, it is available once per Apple Account. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store and may change; we'll seek your consent for price increases where required, consistent with App Store rules.
- Family Sharing is supported for both Pro and Lifetime where enabled.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we generally cannot issue App Store refunds directly. Restore purchases is available in the app's upgrade screen to re-establish entitlements on a new device or after reinstalling.
Data sources and accuracy
Flybound uses aviation weather from NOAA's Aviation Weather Center and airport, runway, and frequency data from the FAA's NASR dataset, among other sources. This data is provided by third parties, may be delayed or unavailable, and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current. Flybound does not warrant any data shown and is not responsible for third-party data or services.
Acceptable use
Use Flybound only for lawful, personal flight-planning purposes. Don't use it in any way that could endanger people or property, don't rely on it as a sole or in-flight source, and don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or its data services.
No warranty
Flybound is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be accurate or available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flybound and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app or any data it presents — including any flight-related decision, outcome, injury, or loss. Because aviation involves inherent risk and you alone act as pilot in command, you assume full responsibility for your flight decisions. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “Effective” date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your place of residence applies.
